The London Vein Service has been established to offer patients requiring advice and the latest treatment options for:
- Varicose veins
- Thread veins
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Leg Ulcers
A wide range of treatment options (e.g. Laser, Sclerotherapy, and Surgery) are available for the above conditions and further details can be obtained on the web site and by consultation.
The vein service is available at the following locations:- Charing Cross Hospital, Cromwell Hospital, Parkside Hospital and the New Victoria Hospital.
The London Vein Service has been set up by Mr Alun H Davies MA,DM,FRCS. He is a Consultant Surgeon whose NHS practice is based at Charing Cross Hospital. Mr Davies trained in Cambridge, Oxford, Plymouth, Boston (USA) and Bristol, prior to taking up a Consultant appointment in Charing Cross in 1994. Mr Davies is a world expert in the management of venous disorder. He is the editor of Phlebology (the only worldwide English language journal dealing with venous disease), President of the European Venous Forum, Member of the American Venous Forum, the American College of Phlebology, The Venous Forum at The Royal Society of Medicine, Vascular Surgical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, European Society of Vascular Surgery. He has also written extensively on many aspects of venous disease. He is recognised by all the major insurances companies in the UK.
