The London Vein Service has been established to offer patients requiring advice and the latest treatment options for:

  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Mr Alun H DaviesA wide range of treatment options (e.g. Laser, Sclerotherapy, and Surgery) are available for the above conditions and further details can be obtained on the web site and by consultation.

The vein service is available at the following locations:- Charing Cross Hospital, Cromwell Hospital, Parkside Hospital, Lister Hospital and the New Victoria Hospital.

The London Vein Service was established by  Professor  Alun H Davies MA,DM,FRCS, FHEA,FEBVS, FACPh. He is a Consultant Surgeon whose NHS practice is based at Charing Cross Hospital.  Professor Davies trained in Cambridge, Oxford, Plymouth, Boston (USA) and Bristol, prior to taking up a Consultant appointment in Charing Cross in 1994.  Professor  Davies is regarded as a world expert in the management of venous disorder. He is the Editor in Chief of Phlebology ( the only worldwide English language journal dealing with venous disease), past President of the European Venous Forum & The Venous Forum at The Royal Society of Medicine . He is a Member of the American Venous Forum, the American College of Phlebology, Vascular Surgical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, European Society of Vascular Surgery.  He is currently the Chairman of the Varicose Vein Guideline Group for the NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence). He has also written extensively on many aspects of venous disease. He is recognized by all the major insurances companies in the UK.
